Iridology

IridologyIridology is the study of the iris (the coloured part) of the eye.

The iris is like a map of your whole body where the tiny fibres on the iris reflect weaknesses in different parts of the body. The right eye will reflect the right side of the body and the left eye the left side.

Iridology is a way of analysing your body by looking at the iris. Although iridology can be helpful in leading to a diagnosis its not possible to diagnose a disease purely from an iridology examination. It will give a good guide as to which areas of your body are weak. And iridology is a good indicator for further investigations.

The main digestive organs appear centrally in the eye around the edge of the pupil. Discoloration in this area indicates a sluggish digestive system, which leads to a build up of toxins in the body. Discoloration may be caused by certain drugs or may have a hereditary link.

Iridology was discovered thousands of years ago in china. But perhaps due to the dark colour of most irises in China its use declined. It is possible to read a dark iris via iridology but a torch is absolutely necessary. About 200 years ago iridology was rediscovered in Hungary. A boy noticed a change in the eye of an owl that he was nursing back to health. When the boy grew up he studied medicine. He studied irises further, and developed the basis for iridology, as it is known today.
